The final report of the public law working group was published on the 7 November 2024.

The most important section for Nagalro members is the section dealing with post-adoption contact. This was the subject of Nagalro’s October 2024 Conference and, for those who were unable to attend, a recording of the conference presentations can be purchased from Nagalro for £25.00.

Although the report sets out recommendations, all of the primary legislation is in place for orders to be made for post-adoption contact. The only changes required are to practice. Members are, therefore urged to read the recommendations carefully to ensure that their own practices and recommendations reflect the current thinking.
